Do your site's buttons work?
Type your site's address. The check finds the links a customer taps to book, order, call or get in touch, and opens up to eight of them once each, the way a tap would. A Book Now button that leads to a missing page loses the customer at the last step, and nothing tells you it happened.
Want it fixed?
Ask me
“Ask me to fix it” on any finding fills this in with that finding and the address you checked. Change anything you like; nothing is sent until you press Send, and I reply by email.
What it checks
The last step before a sale
A customer who taps Book, Order or Call has already decided. If the link leads to a missing page, an old booking account or a phone link that dials nothing, most will not try again, and the site gives no sign of it. Links break quietly when a page is renamed, a booking service changes, or a builder's template carries an old link along.
-
Booking, ordering and contact links
Whether each opens a page, or a missing one: an answer of Not Found, a page titled Page not found, or an address whose domain does not exist. Each finding names the button by its words.
-
Call buttons
Whether a tap-to-call link dials the number it shows, and whether a phone number on the page is a link that goes nowhere.
-
Contact forms
Whether a form sends to an address that exists. Nothing is ever sent through it.
-
Links it leaves alone
Booking pages on Square, Calendly, Acuity, Booksy, GlossGenius, Vagaro and Wix, whose terms bar automated checks, and Toast, OpenTable, Resy, DoorDash and others that turn automated visitors away, ask them not to come or draw their pages with scripts. The report lists them, so you know which to open yourself.
What it cannot see
One tap on each link
The check opens each link once and goes no further, so a booking that fails at the time slot or the payment, a button a script opens, and a message that is sent but never arrives are beyond it. It follows each site's robots.txt, opens at most eight links, and reads only the start of each page. A page drawn entirely by scripts, or a site that turns automated visitors away, is listed as not checked rather than called broken.
The buttons check is one section of the full site check, which runs them all at once with every problem in one list.
