When you visit
Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any web host, it receives your IP address and the details your browser sends with each request, and uses them to deliver the page and to block abuse, including a limit on how often the site check can run. Cloudflare handles that data under its own privacy policy.
In Cloudflare's dashboard I can see totals of visits and, for any request the limit blocked, the IP address involved. I do not copy or keep any of it.
Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics. Its script uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It records the page you opened, the page that linked to it, and your browser, type of device and country.
If you switch between the light and dark look, your choice is saved in your own browser so the next page opens the same way. It is never sent to the site.
Fonts and pictures come from this site itself. Nothing is loaded from Google or from other font or image hosts.
When you use the site check
The address you type goes to this site's code on Cloudflare. That code reads the public page at that address the way a visitor's browser would, along with the site's robots.txt, sitemap and llms.txt files and the plain http version of the address. It names itself as the shahroudi.us site check when it does. It only reads what anyone can see, and never signs in or fills in a form.
For the email part, it also looks up the public mail settings of the site's domain and of the email addresses on the page, through Cloudflare's public DNS service. It sends no email.
For the speed test, the address also goes to Google's PageSpeed Insights, which loads the page on Google's servers. Google's privacy policy covers that part.
The site keeps no record of the addresses people check. Cloudflare holds each result for a short time, up to 30 minutes for the page checks and up to an hour for the speed test, so a repeat check is quick; then it is dropped. When you type the address into the form, it is not added to the page's own web address, so the visit count never includes it.
If you go from one of the section pages, such as the speed check, to the full report, the address you typed is passed along in your browser's session storage and removed as soon as the full report opens. That step stays inside your browser.
When you send a message
The contact forms on the home page and the services page send your name, your email address, the business name if you give one, and your message. The form under a site check report sends your name, your email address, your message and the site address you checked. A button on a finding can fill the message in for you, and nothing is sent until you press Send.
Every form goes through Web3Forms, which delivers the message to [email protected]. Mail to that address is forwarded to my personal inbox, where I keep it so I can reply. I do not add anyone to a mailing list.
What I do not do
I do not sell personal information or use it for advertising. The only services that handle it are the ones named on this page.
Your choices
Email [email protected] to ask what I have from you, or to have your messages deleted.
Changes
If the site starts handling anything new, such as a sign-up for regular checks, this page will say so before it starts, with a new date at the top.
